After a goodnight sleeping there was no reason to hurry...first practice at 11:00hour.
A look at the sky...well the sun is trying is to get trough, little bit cloudy but no wind so good race circumstances.
Last race Fredrik left the Honda with a best laptime of 1.49,8.....after the first practice Fredrik was able to get 1.49,5 and he was fourth fastest.
Not bad,but Fredrik was not so impressed with the times..."I still got suspension problems on the front,we have to work on it"..
"Much" work for the mechanics, but its nice working when the bike gets faster and faster...
Patrik was enjoying being on the track and his laptime 2.06 means 18th place.
Not only working at the bike(s)...also time to talk with many riders/people passing bye.
Second practice took place at 15:00hour...the weather was still nice and the first run Fredrik was
riding together with Toby Markham. Coming into the pit the time was already 1.48,3...more important it looks like that the suspension problem is solved!.
The second run Fredrik and the Honda both likes racing and the time was now 1.47,8!...one more
time in,little changes and than again faster?..no the practice is to short (when you got enough time?).
Fredrik was satisfeid with the bike.."It feels confident now"..."Maybe tomorrow I can start pushing"...
Patrik was 2seconds faster comparing to the morning session "enough improvement for today" he said...

After a long journey Patrik,Fredrik,Linda and the dog Rufes (right way spelling?) arrived early friday morning at the Assen circuit.
The circuit/welcome center was closed till 16:00hour....raindrops were falling on the roof....so time to get some sleep.
I don't say that the sun was shining when they all woke up..but it was dry and more teams arrived at the welcome center area.
Willy Pomper also arrived and after visit the welcome center, Patrik was riding the bus just in front off pitbox 30.
Unpacking/installation pitbox took not so long and at last Fredrik's Honda and Patrik's Yamaha were placed "on the table".
The last months the Honda got some new parts and the "swedish coloured" bike looks ready for racing...well just wait and see!
This evening there is time to visit friends on the paddock...and maybe "little" work on the bike(s).
Saturday weather forecast: 19 degrees and rain possibility 50%.
23 competetors 250cc got there practice at 10:30hour and 15:00hour.
Tomorrow evening "everything" about Assen practice day!

see you sometime this weekend (hope on fridayevening )
1. Johann Zarco (FRA) 1.50.1
2. Cameron Beaubier (USA) 1.51.0
3. Matthew Hoyle (UK) 1.51.8
4. Lorenzo Savadori (ITA) 1.51.9
5. Cyril Carillo (FRA) 1.51.9
6. Cristian Trabalon (SPA) 1.52.0
7. Sturla (NOR) 1.52.1
8. Deane Brown (UK) 1.52.3
9. Jamie Mossey (UK) 1.52.4
10.Robert Gull (SWE) 1.52.5
Løpet går i morgen kl. 16.15 (portugaltid.
Grrrrrr!!!! Vi håper at ryggen blir bra i god tid før Assen. Og gratulerer med dagen som var, Fredrik.
Masse hilsen fra Sturla, Guro og Øistein
|bara sådär utan att säga till! Grattis i efterskott och hoppas du kan köra i morgon i årets viktigaste tävling... :)

After the warmup session Fredrik was again fastest.
Lap time 1.08,4 means dry track, second man Robert Dobrich
was 0,8seconds behind Fredrik.
Well....no live timing so just wait for the race results on the internet.
Not such good news...Fredrik crashed at the 13 lap. Fredrik was riding
the fastest lap times....for sure Linda will give more info about the
reason Fredrik crashed.
Linda informed me that Fredrik was a little hurt in his back, but the
doctors said nothing was broken.....
Lets hope that Fredrik is able to walk without pain the coming days and
that he recovers soon!.

Blue sky, much sun, going to a race circuit....is there more to wish?
The bike and Fredrik where looking forward warmup.....maybe
warmup is not the right word....3 laps and time is over.
Fredrik looks not so satisfeid...anyway...just 3 laps and the same time
as yesterday after 20 laps practice.
Yesterday there was spoken a lot about the 125c and 250cc racing together.
There were some dangerous situations...speed difference and 40 riders
means extra concentration.
The board made a good choice,125cc race 10 laps and 250cc race 10 laps.
The bike needed little changes and Fredrik got time to talk with riders
passing by. Hans Smees looked very interested at the Honda.....bike change
Watching a great 125cc the sky was not so blue anymore...and after 7 laps
Women´s championship race, the ladies got red flag due to rain.
Not heavy..but enough for stopping.
I was standing beside the pitbox italian ducati team (3 riders).
Italian can be very upset (telling something new?)...many mechanics,
a busy teammanager and nobody knows what tyre to put on...just use
your imagination for the pictures.
All this delay means waiting for the 250cc riders at the `parc ferme`.
The rain did not impressed Fredrik....
Starting the sighting lap...still a cloudy sky and little rain drops...
Standing on the second row Fredrik made a good start but after
two laps he was going backward instead of forward.
Fredrik got problems at the north trackside with the front..so
he decided to change his body position on the bike.
The feeling was better now and Fredrik was able to real racing.
His was fighting his way trough the field and the Honda was
also enjoying the party.
Nice `battle` with Lars Kristiansen means at the end 5 place!
1. Hans Smees (leading start/finish)
2. Ronald Beitler 14,3 seconds behind
3. Randy Gevers 16,5 sec.
4. Mike Velthuizen 16,7 sec.
5. FREDRIK WATZ 29,2 sec.
6. Lars Kristiansen 29,4 sec.
7. Erwin Postmus 39,3 sec.
8. Mark Bezemer 39,5 sec.
9. David Drieghe 39,9 sec.
10.Frank Bakker 44,9 sec.
The best result ever racing team noord nederland!
When you got this results racing is really nice, fun!
At the VIP box the people where very impressed about
Fredrik...to be honest I was proud to....
Fredrik got a deserved cold beer, and after a little chat
it was time for saying goodbye.
Thanks Fredrik for the nice days and I hope for a safe
